This afternoon, I was so engrossed in chatting with my friends on facebook that I did not even notice the changes in my surroundings. Birds were chirping outside but I paid no attention to them. Just then, I heard a loud noise. It came from the window. I turned my head around and saw a dreadful sight. A bird had plummeted into my house through the window panes and was lying half-dead! Aghast, I hastily jumped out of my seat and sprinted to the kitchen right away. I armed myself with a broom and tip-toed slowly into my room. Hiding behind the door like a ninja, I peered through the glass door of my room and saw some feathers lying on the floor. I trudged in and surveyed my room for the bird. The bird was still there. At that point of time, I deduced that the bird was either dead or immobile. Wielding a broom, I poked it to see whether it was dead. It did not move at all. I further examined it, I fished out my pen from my pocket and started to toss it at the bird. To my horror, it flapped its wings and I was startled. I did not know what to do with it as I could not get help since I am all alone at home. Out of instinct, I immediately used my bare hands and place it into an empty box. After that, I went back to using facebook and left the box on my bed, waiting for my mum to be back so she could do something about the bird. Two hours later, my mum was finally home and I excitedly showed her the bird that flew in my room. But to my disappointment, the bird was dead and started to emit the smell of rot. As I did not want to give up on the bird, I tried to resuscitate it to prove to myself that it was not dead but it was to no avail. And I disposed of it by burying it in on of the nearest field from my house. I hope that the bird would "rest in peace".
