This afternoon, I was so engrossed in chatting with my friends on facebook that I did not even notice the changes in my surroundings. Birds were chirping outside but I paid no attention to them. Just then, I heard a loud noise. It came from the window. I turned my head around and saw a dreadful sight. A bird had plummeted into my house through the window panes and was lying half-dead! Aghast, I hastily jumped out of my seat and sprinted to the kitchen right away. I armed myself with a broom and tip-toed slowly into my room. Hiding behind the door like a ninja, I peered through the glass door of my room and saw some feathers lying on the floor. I trudged in and surveyed my room for the bird. The bird was still there. At that point of time, I deduced that the bird was either dead or immobile. Wielding a broom, I poked it to see whether it was dead. It did not move at all. I further examined it, I fished out my pen from my pocket and started to toss it at the bird. To my horror, it flapped its wings and I was startled. I did not know what to do with it as I could not get help since I am all alone at home. Out of instinct, I immediately used my bare hands and place it into an empty box. (363 words)
