A New Year 2011

It’s a strange and worth celebrating New Year. Time really does fly. At the start of this New Year and school term, I still could not believe i had advanced to secondary 2 in a blink of an eye! This year, a new batch of students has joined us! The realisation of that, kind of made me feel matured since I was one of the newest batch of students last year. Looking at them, reminds me of my secondary 1 days. Everyone has seemed to grow taller over the holidays. It’s strange to see some of my seniors wearing long pants for the first time and it would be our turn next year…... It sure feels weird, having to go to school 5 days a week just after a long holiday and waking up at 5:45am. I was glad to see all my classmates and teacher on the first day of school. But the second year in VS for me would not be as relaxing as compared to last year since we had to choose our subject combination for following year, so I had to work extra hard for this year. On Monday, the 10th of January, it was the release of the O level results I was there as I my CCA was about to start soon, I saw many that jumped for joy and hugged each other to celebrate their achievement and some that lowered their head with disappointment upon receiving their result slip. The top Malay student of Singapore was actually a Victorian who took Chinese as his mother tongue. I freaked out after knowing he was from a pure Malay family and could score A1 for Chinese, this proved to me that as long as you believe in yourself and work hard, it is possible to achieve what you want. =)
